When I was composing this image I really wanted to show the drama in the clouds and have them be the dominant feature, so I put the horizon line on the bottom third. When I was creating the panoramic in post I was fascinated by the detail in the houses on Mt. Paku, it's such a satisfying thing when it all comes together. We use the finest EPSON UltraChrome archival inks that have a lightfastness display life of more than 75 years. After printing, the canvas is then hand rolled with a clear semi gloss varnish which allows the print to be wiped clean once hanging and also increases the life of the ink.
