Logging Rules The Day
We had it sooo good! The Hyundai Longboard Tour here in Aotearoa ran from something like 2007- 2016. I got the gig as the offical shooter from 2009 til the end. The Summer long circuit encompassed the Nationals and 5 other venues nationwide. The final event was always Port Waikato where Howie Spencer would put on the most epic party. The Tour attracted internationals like multiple world champs Taylor Jensen, Nava Young and Josh Constable....every year.

For 7 glorious summers Hyundai would furnish moi with a brand new SUV. I took those things EVERYWHERE. Hyundai were generous, they expected their pound of flesh for sure, but they were awesome to contract to.
Those parties!
No one expected the Hyundai Tour to last forever. In fact the powers that be openly stated that when Hyundai landed Rugby, Surfing was out. It was great gravy while the train was rolling.

So many life long bonds were formed. The vibe around logging is super inclusive. Last weekend echoed those vibes, The Papamoa Festival of Longboarding was all about the catch-ups. Hanging out with Steve Morris, Dyl Barnfield, Dan Proctor, Matty Cockyne [he married a Hyundai promo girl- true story!- hi Ashley :)] Sam Bradford, Jay Ryan, Mickey T and Grant Cockryne. Fucking good times.
